The birthday trip this year was time in Harpswell, Me. Hollis and I wanted to take photos and enjoy a quiet weekend away from the hustle and bustle of our hometown. So we headed north.
Our cottage was amazing and right on the water.
Though it was cold we still managed to see a few sights.
Most of these photos are using my iPhone as there were not a lot of opportunities for us to get out and really take photographs.
Harpswell is a town in Cumberland County, Maine, United States, within Casco Bay in the Gulf of Maine. The population was 4,740 at the 2010 census.
Maine, the northeasternmost U.S. state, is known for its rocky coastline, maritime history and nature areas like the granite and spruce islands of Acadia National Park. Moose are plentiful in Baxter State Park, home to Mt. Katahdin, endpoint of the Appalachian Trail. Lighthouses such as the candy-striped beacon at West Quoddy Head, dot the coast, as do lobster shacks and sandy beaches like Ogunquit and Old Orchard.
