5 miles in 52:25 Not a bad run but the weather was brutal. Very hot and well it slowed me down quite a bit. Overall a good run and a nice 2 day total of 8.5. Hopefully this will kick me into gear into a more consistent pattern.
3 Times in a Row
I decided to run 3 days in a row. Don’t know what came over me but I really felt like it would be a good idea. I was tired, my legs were sore but I headed out the door. It wasn’t quite as cold as the past 2 days and I immediately seemed to find [...]
Need Motivation
I need to get out the door and running. This weekend I will plan on running 8-10 miles and biking 10-16 miles. Now that is a goal.
Brick
Yesterday I did a brick. It has been awhile since I’ve consistently trained so it was going to be difficult. What is a brick ? Bricks are a very important part of triathlon (and duathlon) training and they are sometimes overlooked. Bricks refer to training on two disciplines during the same workout, one after the [...]
Lazy
Over the past 2 months I’ve become lazy. Unmotivated. Just happened. No excuses but just not into running, biking or anything else. I’m starting to feel the itch though and with 7 months until my big race I’d better get off my ass and start training. So, going to fire up the trainer, jump on [...]
Vermont 50k Race Report
For you statistically inclined, 8 miles of it (26%) is on segments of the 100 mile course, and the total vertical is about 5,600′.
So that sounds pretty challenging but really that is what is all about. Challenging the body to do something that it might not have ever done. Just two years ago I ran the Boston Marathon and I remember saying when asked “Would you ever run more than 26.2 miles ?” and my answer was short and simple “No WAY”. Wow, how things change. The endurance gene in me now has a thirst for going longer and finding things that will challenge me.
50k or bust
Sometimes you just have say WTF ! Right ? I’ve been training aimlessly for months with no real goal in mind. Sure, in the beginning I thought I wanted to qualify for Boston but midway through May I saw that I didn’t have the motivation or desire to run a marathon. So, I ran a [...]
Sutton Family Fitness 10k
Surprisingly this was the first 10k I’ve ever raced. Weird, but it turns out I really enjoyed this distance. I’ve been fighting calf/shin issues for the past 2 months it seems so I didn’t have really any expectations for the race.
Bladder Betrayal
What do you do when you begin your long run and shortly before you hit 2 miles the urge to urinate consumes you.
Boston Marathon Course Tips
